Presentation of the Forum
The "Space for Freedom" Forum was staged on November 5, 6 and 7 in 2010 in Barcelona. It appeared as a space where ideas and proposals could be expressed freely, and as a meeting point for institutions, organisations and individuals committed to laicism, civil rights and equal treatment.
The “Space for Freedom” Forum aimed to:
- Generate a debate on the meaning of laicism and its position in contemporary society, both in terms of its social consideration and its presence in public institutions.
- Introduce laicism and proposals designed by the organisations that promote it to society and to the public authorities.
- Generate an area for exchange and a meeting point for organisations working in the field of laicism, and promote the ties and cooperation between them.
- Generate proposals to advance towards a secular society, which can be assumed both by institutions and citizens.
